| Volunteer at Hogar Jesus de Nazareth | |

If you have a month or more and you would like to live in Sucre, Bolivia, you can volunteer to work at the Hogar Jesus de Nazareth. The children's home is a short bus ride away from the centre of town making it an ideal place to volunteer. The children are all boys up to the age of 14 and the work involved depends on what skills you have to offer. During term time the majority of the boys attend school in the mornings. In the afternoons they do their homework and play around the home. You can assist with homework, play games and provide other activities for them (this website is an activity that the children worked on over a period of four weeks). The home has a football pitch nearby where you can take the boys to play, and past volunteers have taken them out for day trips.
Unlike many other volunteering options, Hogar Jesus de Nazareth doesn't ask for any money when you volunteer. However, you might need to spend some money on activities - for example paper for printing colouring sheets. It's also possible to do some fund raising from friends and family members at home in order to buy much needed books, games and clothes for the boys. At the time of writing, the staff at Hogar Jesus de Nazareth do not have any English, so you will need enough Spanish to be able to communicate with them and the children. Contact details:
